After being heavily criticized for not scoring in Real Madrid's first three La Liga matches, Kylian Mbappé responded by netting a brace in his fourth match. He continued his scoring streak in the fifth game as well. Alongside Mbappé, Vinícius Júnior also scored, with both goals coming from penalties. Real Madrid won 2-0 against Real Sociedad.

This victory has reduced the points gap between Real Madrid and the league leaders, Barcelona. Barcelona, with four wins in four matches, has 12 points, while Real Madrid, with three wins and two draws in five matches, has 11 points. Tonight, Barcelona will face Girona. A win for Barcelona could extend their lead over Real Madrid once again.

Despite winning, Real Madrid faced significant challenges from Sociedad. Without a stroke of luck, Sociedad could have taken the lead multiple times. Before Real Madrid's first goal, Sociedad had three shots that hit the post. Mbappé also had several opportunities but failed to score.

The much-needed goal for Real Madrid came in the 58th minute when Vinícius converted a penalty. Shortly after, Vinícius was fouled in the box, giving Real Madrid another penalty. This time, Mbappé took the shot and scored in the 75th minute, securing a 2-0 lead for the team.

After the match, Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti remarked that the victory wasn't entirely deserved, stating, "This match was difficult. Perhaps the win wasn't fully deserved because Real Sociedad played very well. We didn’t start well, and they pressed us strongly."

Ancelotti also spoke about Mbappé's integration into the team, noting, "He is very dangerous and has developed good chemistry with Vinícius and the other strikers. He is improving a lot, and I’ve been very pleased with his performance."

Even though Real Madrid lost their top spot after drawing three of their five matches, they remain unbeaten in La Liga since September. They have not been defeated in 37 consecutive matches. It remains to be seen how long Ancelotti’s team can maintain this unbeaten run.
